Example #1:
A client of mine purchased a website. One day she logged into her hosting account and the website was completely gone. Poof! Vanished! The hosting company had no explaination. They basically said the site wasn’t there and they didn’t know why.

Luckily I had sold the site to my client and still had all the site files and even the WordPress database still in my own hosting account. We were able to get her website back up and running very quickly. SAVED.

Example #2:

A very reliable host I’ve worked with in the past recently had major server problems that caused many of their clients to lose part and even whole websites. I got to witness the reactions first-hand in the membership forum where many customers hang out.

At first many website owners were upset about the hosting issues and surprised that the host didn’t have backups for them. They eventually came to realize that regular and often backups could have prevented any complete and total loses.

Example #3:
A friend of mine emailed me with the subjectline: “My Website’s Been Hacked, Help”. A first I thought it was spam or something but she actually was hacked and unavailable to make changes to her site. So she asked me to go in and put her site into Maintenance Mode until she had time to fix it.

The bottom line here is: Don’t count only on your web host to keep everything safe! You must create your own backup plan in case of problems and catastrophies…
